This second concert included the somewhat surprising choice of three Fantazias by Purcell, originally conceived for viol consort. They were introduced by Rafael Todes, and seemed very successful in the quartet presentation, as purely abstract instrumental music. The remaining two pieces are part of the repertoire more familiar to Llanfyllin concertgoers, but sounding different yet again coming from this new edition of the Allegri.
