Dear Patrons and Friends,
Welcome to another year of outstanding performance and enjoyment. I am sure that you will be pleased to learn that we have established a permanent arrangement for the dates of the Festival - it will take place annually on the first two weekends of July. Having a regular time is beneficial in planning our musical calendar and hopefully you will note the dates in your diary.
2008 will be an outstanding year for lovers of chamber music as we are promised a rich variety of music to include:

All years celebrate an anniversary and 2008 marks the 80th birthday of Bruno Schrecker - who as the original genius behind the Llanfyllin Festival has endeared himself to all our concertgoers. We are delighted to share his celebrations, as he will be joining the Quartet for some performances.
In addition, we welcome 'Cantiones', an outstanding Chamber Choir from Oswestry, who will be giving a concert on Wednesday, 9th July in the gardens of Bodfach Hall, Llanfyllin, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Simon Baynes. This will take the form of a Glyndebourne style concert, with an interval for picnicking and strolling round the grounds - bring a seat or a rug and your picnic. Naturally with the vagaries of the British weather, St Myllin's Church will be available.
One very important innovation concerns booking arrangements. In addition to the usual arrangements and tickets on the door, we are using the booking office facilities of Theatr Hafren - Newtown. All booking possibilities will be detailed in the Festival Brochure. Ticket prices remain as last year, with students at £5 and accompanied children free.
