"...for warmth and intimacy and glorious surroundings, Llanfyllin can scarcely be beaten"

From Shrewsbury

Take the A458 Welshpool Road and turn right just beyond Ford village along the B4393 (signposted Lake Vyrnwy). Aim for Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain: turn left just beyond the bridge and right at the far end of Llansantffraid, following signposts for Llanfyllin. After about four miles turn right onto the A490 at the T-junction. The A490 ends in Llanfyllin.

From the North (via Oswestry):

Visitors travelling south from Oswestry on the A483 towards Welshpool should turn right for Llansantffraid at the Llynclys cross-roads.

From Welshpool and the south

Take the A490 from the roundabout at the west end of Welshpool, and follow it to Llanfyllin. (Note that the A490 briefly joins the A495, requiring a right and then left dog leg).

When you arrive in Llanfyllin, go through the town (if approaching from the East), past the square on your left and St.Myllin’s Church will be on your right. There is limited parking on the road; the public car park is a few yards further along on your right. (Please check free parking areas and times on arrival.)
