Llanfyllin Festival Association Masterclasses

For the past two years we have been sponsoring the Allegri String Quartet to go into local schools and give workshops and masterclasses. These have been very well received, and their value cannot be exaggerated in an area where Local Education Authority funding and support for music in schools is poor. Several children have started learning to play instruments as a direct result of the Allegri's visit, a heartwarming outcome.

We are, as "music providers", very aware that though we have a solid and very loyal core audience, it is predominantly comprised of senior citizens. We feel that it is vital to give children the opportunity to experience live classical music and encourage them to enjoy this genre, and the masterclasses do just that.
